SMI and it’s predecessors have been operating since the mid 1940’s, founded under the name of Fenner–Brey, later changing to Brey, Stuewe & Braun, Inc. and finally to it’s present name of Steinbrecher & Meneau, Inc. or SMI.  Being in business for over 60 years has provided SMI with an extensive library of project files, maps, books and reference materials, enabling us to ensure present and future clients that the information about past projects will always be here for them or their descendants as SMI continues to move forward into the future.

SMI is a fully insured progressive company utilizing the latest in computer aided drafting (AutoCAD Civil 3D) and measuring equipment such as global positioning system (GPS) in order to provide a fast and accurate product to meet our client’s needs. We are the only company in Manitowoc County with both Engineering and Land Surveying personnel providing a complete range of civil engineering and surveying services, from concept planning through design and construction.
